Rummage And Bake Sale Set

A rummage and bake sale will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Mt. Vernon Place, Jamestown, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct 5. A bag sale will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Featured will be good clothing and household items, jewelry, used books and homemade baked goods. The sale is sponsored by the Ladies Erene Society of the church.

Leon To Present 2013 Budget

LEON - The meeting to present the tentative 2013 budget will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Leon Town Hall.

Sewer District Board To Meet

CELORON - The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District administrative board will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Water Pollution Control Facility.

Medicare Seminar Set For Thursday

FLUVANNA - Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., will host a Medicare Educational Seminar on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. RSVP is requested by Tuesday at 483-1533. The seminar is free to the public.

Rummage Sale Begins Thursday

Christ First United Methodist Church, corner of Lakeview and Buffalo streets, will hold a rummage sale from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5. A $1 bag sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6.

JHS To Hold Open House

Jamestown High School will hold is annual open house on Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Parents should gather in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. before being released to follow student's schedules. The JHS College and Career Center (located in the library) will be open at 5:30 p.m. for parents of seniors wishing to gather information on the college and scholarship application processes.

Alternative Parking Begins Monday

Daily alternate parking in the city of Jamestown will go into effect Monday. Vehicles should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the road during odd-numbered days and on the even-numbered side of the street during even-numbered days. Parking alternates at 10 a.m. daily with no grace period.

Panama Board To Meet Monday

PANAMA - The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold its scheduled board meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the board room. This meeting is open to the public.

Political Forum Series Is Sunday

The adult forum at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, corner of Fourth and Main streets, will begin ''Our Political Landscape,'' a five-part series, at 9 a.m. Sunday in the church undercroft. Stan Lundine, former Jamestown mayor, U.S. Congressman and New York State lieutenant governor, will present an overview of the topic. The series offers small glimpses on different levels at of this "landscape."
