Cardinals Post Shutout Under Lights At CVCS

SINCLAIRVILLE - Under the lights at Cassadaga Valley Central School, Randolph (9-1, 7-0) remained undefeated in Division 2 soccer action with an 8-0 victory over the Cougars on Thursday.

Zach Jackson and Dustin Botzenmayer each recorded hat tricks, with Jackson also delivering an assist. Austin Schapp, usually a sweeper, was moved up front on senior night and made the most of the opportunity with a goal and Nate Ploetz netted his first career varsity goal.

Nick Carpenter recorded his fifth shutout of the season, making five saves.

Cassadaga Valley (0-9, 0-6) goalkeeper Tim Bender made 20 saves in defeat.

C-LV FALLS

CATTARAUGUS - Dom Saglimben scored an unassisted goal at 12 minutes of the first half to give Allegany-Limestone (5-1, 5-1) a 1-0 victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley (2-4, 4-4).

The keeper for the winners was Dom Conroy, who made seven saves.

Nate Reynolds was a busy goalie with 20 saves.

DIVISION 3

BEARS LOSE

FREWSBURG - Alex Elderkin, assisted by Brett Johnson, gave Frewsburg the early advantage just four minutes into the game, but North Collins answered with three goals to clinch the victory, 3-1.

Jared Keppel scored the equalizer in the ninth minute and Todd Youngman the eventual game winner at the 60th from Constantine Goetsch, who finished with a pair of assists.

Chris Pulinski gave the winners an insurance goal with 11 minutes remaining.
