LeElla K. "Lee" Nelson, 86, of 2879 Bentley Ave., Jamestown, N.Y. passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
An area resident for most of her life she was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Warren, Pa., a daughter of the late Lloyd O. and Linna Brown Knight.
Before her retirement in 1987, she was employed as the assistant Sunday editor for the Times Publishing Company in Erie, Pa., where she worked for 28 years. In earlier years she had worked for the former Jamestown Sun and Star prior to working in Erie.
Lee was a member of the Christ First United Methodist Church in Jamestown, N.Y. and will be remem-bered as a wonderful, lov-ing wife, mother and grand-mother.
Surviving are her children: Donald K. (Rosemary) Nelson, and Sherida L. Nelson both of Gastonia, N.C.; three grandchildren: Laura (Jon Cerdan) Nelson of Gastonia, N.C., Megan (Matthew) Poeller of Buf-falo, N.Y., and Justin D. Christjohn of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a great-grandson, Roland Cerdan; and two nephews: Kenneth and Alan Knight.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth L. Knight and a sister Dorothy L. Nelson.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Natalie Hanson, pastor of the Christ First United Methodist Church, will of-ficiate.
