You know the old saying "use it or lose it." Well at age 86, Robert Woodard has not lost it. He once counted the cars that he sold. He now counts the miles he cycles. Woodard is the product of the focus of employees at the Senator Catharine Young Wellness Center. He is amongst the many who have been positively impacted by the natural benefits of remaining physically and mentally active in one's senior years. Woodard recently cycled as many as 50 miles in a day. According to Nancy White, pictured left, a certified fitness trainer who has worked closely with Woodard, he cycled over 325 miles during the month of August. Joanie Denn, right, was recently hired by Comfort Today to develop a wellness program for seniors. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in health and physical education and experience working with people of all ages. She provides guidance, support and motivation to help people achieve their individual goals. Those interested in post-rehab strengthening, weight loss or simply to increase physical activity on a day-to-day basis can call her at 338-0500 for a one-on-one discussion and evaluation.
