Donald H. Davis, 89, formerly of Glenwood, Fla., died Friday (Sept. 21, 2012) at a medical facility in Palm Harbor, Fla.
He was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Frewsburg, the son of Hollis J. and Mary Thompson Davis.
He was a graduate of Frewsburg High School and Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
He was a World War II U.S. veteran serving in England, servicing aircraft for military bombing.
Before retiring, he had been employed at IBM as a field manager in the Miami area.
He enjoyed birds, his orange trees, and all things mechanical.
Donald is survived by his adopted son Frederick Davis of Gainesville, Fla., a brother, Dr. Norman Davis of Jamestown, a sister, Marian Folker of Mariposa, Calif., several nieces and nephews, and a friend, Leonard Marino of Palm Harbor, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Wetmore Davis in July 2001, two brothers: Vincent and Homer Davis, and a sister, Mildred Myers.
Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg. A service will be held at a time to be announced by the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg .
