CORRY - Public open houses for Corry Memorial Hospital, 995 Shamrock Lane, Corry, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The hospital is located on a 41-acre campus behind the Corry Wal-Mart.
The 75,000-square-foot facility features Wellness Environment patient rooms designed to minimize risks of infection or falls. They are equipped with high-tech beds and visitor sofabeds for extra safety and comfort and are the only ones of their kind in the tri-state area.
Other unique features include: all-digital inpatient/outpatient testing equipment for mammography, x-ray, sonography and CT scanning; outpatient and inpatient MRI capabilities; a 24-hour Emergency Department with inside bays for indoor ambulance transfers; new surgical suites and equipment for same-day and inpatient surgeries such as advanced joint replacement procedures; and a helipad. Advanced energy-saving technology is expected to reduce the hospital's energy usage by 40 percent. A community room is also available for local events and meetings.
Open house activities will include facility tours, opportunities to meet hospital staff and physicians, refreshments, health-related booths and prize drawings.
The hospital will be open for new patients as well as the transfer of current patients on Sept. 30.
