A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted Friday evening and the Jamestown Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the man who did it.

Around 7:45 p.m., a woman was reportedly walking through the area on Victoria Avenue behind the Big Lots store when she was physically attacked.

A male subject was allegedly seen carrying a white laundry-style bag in the area at the time of the incident. At this time no other information is available regarding the male subject.

Investigators are still working the case and canvassing the area looking for possible witnesses as well as reviewing surveillance video from area businesses. JPD officials are looking for any information from anybody who may have been in the area Friday evening.

Anyone who may have information on the subject is asked to call the JPD at 483-7537. Anonymous tips can be left on the Tips line at 483-TIPS. All calls and tips will be kept strictly confidential.
