Four people were taken to WCA Hospital on Wednesday following a motor vehicle accident in Lakewood.
At 12:43 p.m., Lakewood-Busti Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on E. Fairmount Avenue in the Village of Lakewood. An investigation at the scene determined that a 2009 Chevrolet, driven by Kristie Tuttle, 20, was making a left turn into the parking lot of the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union. Her vehicle was then struck from behind by a 2005 Honda which was being driven by J. Scott Lawson, 72, of Rochester.
Lawson sustained an abrasion to his left hand, but declined treatment at the scene. He was charged with following too closely. Four of the occupants of the Chevrolet, including a one-year-old child, went to WCA for complaints of pain.
The fifth occupant of the Chevrolet, Nichodemious N. Tuttle, had an outstanding warrant from the City of Jamestown. He was taken into custody by the Lakewood-Busti Police and found to be in possession of marijuana. Tuttle was given an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and directed to appear in court at a later date. He was then turned over to the Jamestown Police Department.
