Cornell Group To Meet Monday

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Frank Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Jews For Jesus Member To Speak

RANDOLPH - Oded Cohen of Jews for Jesus will be the guest speaker at 6 p.m. Sunday in the East Randolph United Methodist Church. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation. All are invited to attend. For more information, call the church at 358-2433. There is no admission charge, but an offering will be taken. Jews for Jesus uses creative methods and contemporary issues to present the message that Jesus is the Messiah to Jewish people around the world. Cohen serves as an evangelist with the Tel Aviv branch of the organization.

JPS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road. The meeting was originally scheduled to be held at Love Elementary School but the venue was changed back to the board room. The board will meet at Love Elementary School on Nov. 6. The public is welcome to attend.

Quaint Road To Be Closed

POLAND - Quaint Road will be closed to all traffic on Wednesday and Thursday for a complete reconstruction of the railroad crossing between New York Avenue (Clay Pond Road) and Elmwood Avenue.

Goodell To Speak At Meeting

LAKEWOOD - Assemblyman Andy Goodell will be the featured speaker at a meeting sponsored by Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots. The meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Goodell is running for re-election to the Assembly. Jim Walker will update members on the issue of the County Home. The public is invited to attend.

ARES Team To Compete Sunday

SALAMANCA - The Cattaraugus County ARES team is participating in a triathlon in Allegany State Park on Sunday. The race is called "Pain in the Allegany's." Amateur radio operators are needed to provide communications. The race starts at 7:45 a.m. with a 1.2-mile swim, followed by a 56-mile bike race and a 3-mile run. The Ham radio operator will man checkpoints throughout the park. Hams are needed at all levels of expertise. Contact Gary Tillinghast at 592-9554 for more information or to sign up.

JCC Offering Fall Fitness Classes

Jamestown Community College's Total Fitness program and Faculty Student Association are offering several fitness classes during the fall, beginning the first week in October. Two five-week sessions will be held. Classes are conducted in the Physical Education Complex. Registration information is available by calling JCC Total Fitness at 338-1260. Preregistration is requested by Thursday, Sept. 27. Classes include: Toning With Weights, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Water Aerobics, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturdays; Boot Camp, 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; and Zumba, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.
