JAMESTOWN POLICE
Joanne M. Sherlock, 36, of Jamestown was charged with having inadequate/no brake lights, refusal to take a breath test, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or more at 3:06 a.m. Thursday. She will be arraigned in the Jamestown City Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE
LAKEWOOD - James W. Hall, of Ashville was charged with grand larceny at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, Hall admitted to taking $1,000 cash from the register at Don's Car Wash over a period of about one month. He was issued an appearance ticket to be in court later.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
HANOVER - Ronald Viscuso, 49, of Silver Creek was charged with menacing a police officer or peace officer, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to police, officers were dispatched to take a complaint from Viscuso. While speaking with officers, Viscuso became very aggitated and disorderly and began allegedly screaming obscenities in the roadway. When officers attempted to place him under arrest, he ran into his home, and when deputies went inside, Viscuso allegedly displayed a knife and another sharp object and began approaching deputies. Deputies were able to secure the weapons and Viscuso was taken into custody. He was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond.
CHARLOTTE - Ralph A. Johnson, 45, of Sinclairville was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, not having insurance, driving on a suspended registration, being an unlicensed driver, driving with an open container of alcohol and not having a current inspection at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken into custody and will appear in court later.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
OLEAN - Rachel N. Adams, 32, of Allegany was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. According to police, Adams is accused of not reporting the proper address and rental amount on forms she submitted to Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services. Adams allegedly received $1,092 in food stamps to which her family was not entitled.
N.Y. STATE POLICE
LAKEWOOD - David A. Bemis, 43, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree bail jumping at 11:39 a.m. Wednesday. He was issued an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
POMFRET - Two 17-year-old males from Dunkirk were charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Both subjects were issued appearance tickets for the charges and will be in court later.
