Free pizza slices and beverages is how Jamestown residents celebrated the opening of Papa John's Pizza restaurant Tuesday.
The pizza shop, located at 709 W. Third St., Jamestown, is the first Papa John's in the Jamestown area. The business will be operated by the Bajco Group, which is headquartered in Niles, Ohio. Nadeem S. Bajwa, Bajco Group chief executive officer, said company officials are glad to open a Papa John's in Jamestown.
''We've had such a welcoming arrival from the community,'' he said. ''We're confident the Jamestown community will like our pizza.''

Don Ceccarelli, Papa John's franchise business director, said the community will now have a chance to understand the company's slogan.
''We're glad to carry on the Papa John's tradition of 'Better ingredients. Better pizza. Papa John's,''' he said.
The Bajco Group owns around 85 Papa John's Pizza restaurants in Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and in Ontario, Canada. The new Jamestown carryout and delivery restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
