JHS Suffers Soccer Loss To Clarence

CLARENCE - Jamestown put up a strong battle before losing to unbeaten Clarence, the No. 1-ranked boys soccer team in Western New York, in ECIC Division 1 action on Monday.

The game was scoreless in the first half, but after intermission the Red Devils (5-0, 7-0) came on to prevail over Jamestown (0-3, 0-6), 3-1.

Ryan Eilason broke the scoreless duel at 28:28 followed by Taylor Helms at 26:36 and Tom Shafer at 12:49 for Clarence.

Nino Christodolou scored his second of the season from Alex Lee Yaw with 2:53 remaining to avert the shutout for the Red Raiders.

Jamestown didn't allow a Clarence shot in the first half but had goalie Liam Kulakowski sidelined with an ankle injury with 10 minutes remaining. Chris Faulkner played the rest of the way.
