Green Scores Winner For Falconer Girls

FALCONER - Randi Green of Falconer Lady Golden Falcons made her first goal of the season count in a big way.

Green headed in a corner kick from Emma Steele at 3:46 of the second half to enable Falconer (2-0, 2-1-1) to earn a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Olean Lady Huskies in Division 1 girls soccer on Monday afternoon.

The game was tied at 1-1 in the first half with Falconer scoring first and then Olean tied it up later in the half.

Jessie Caprino also got her first goal of the season with it being unassisted at 21:06 to give the Lady Golden Falcons a 1-0 lead.

Kaitlyn McKeown tied it up at 1-1 for Olean with a tally at 38:12 to set the stage for Greene's first goal of the season.

Jordan Jones made five saves for Falconer and Maddy Stavish had the same number for Olean.

Olean had numerous chances to score in the last 10 minutes, but Jones and Falconer kept them off the scoreboard. The Lady Huskies had several free kicks.
