FORESTVILLE - Rob Benson shattered the Panama record books for rushing on Saturday afternoon.
Benson rushed for 240 yards in 17 carries while scoring twice to set a new school record when Panama (2-0, 2-1) rolled over Forestville (0-3, 0-3), 40-15, in Class DD football.
Benson broke the previous record of 201 yards in 19 carries set by the late Tom Pratton in 2001.
Team-wise, the Panthers also set a school record with 488 yards on 54 attempts with Stephen Enlow contributing 19 rushes for 182 yards.
Coach Chris Payne gave credit to the blocking of Tony Paterniti, Devin Ireland, Dustin Smouse, Alec Blose, Tanner Propheter and Jacob Short in order to establish a rushing standard.
Benson scored on runs of 35 and 95 yards while Enlow went over from the 4 and from 47 yards. Blose also scored twice on a 4-yard run and 25-yard pass from Bryce Paine.
Forestville pushed across two touchdowns by Nate Maines on distances of 4 yards and 1. Jacob Nosbisch was 9-of-25 for 132 yards passing.
Defensively, Short led Panama with 10 tackles and two sacks.
