SOUTH DAYTON - Pine Valley and Westfield took Thursday's Division 2 high school volleyball match about as far as it could go.
When all was said and done, it was the Lady Panthers (2-0, 2-1) who emerged with a victory with scores of 25-23, 24-26, 23-25, 25-13, 27-25.
Aaren Waterman led the way for Pine Valley with her four aces, five digs, nine blocks and two kills. Kayla Mansfield added three kills, five digs and 12 assists while Arlene Pollock contributed 30 assists and Casey Abers recorded three blocks.
Hilary Nelson put up impressive numbers for the Lady Wolverines (0-2, 0-3) with 10 kills, five blocks, five assists and eight aces. Madison Mathews also had a nice all-around game with six kills, two blocks, five assists and a pair of aces. Jen LaPorte added 13 assists, three aces and a block.
