Senior Center To Meet Sept. 18
The next Jamestown Area Senior Center meeting will be a tureen at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Forty-four members attended a recent meeting. Visitors included Hazel Linamen, Bev and John Hassler and Norma McKinley. Lt. Marty Bova, of the Chautauqua Sheriff's Department, was the guest speaker. Shirley Vandenburg, activities director, opened the meeting with a flag salute and song. She also spoke on the Oct. 17 train ride in Medina, Ohio, which will leave at 7:45 a.m. Discussion was on a spaghetti dinner sponsored by Emeritus of Lakewood from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. The cost is $6 per person, and tickets are available in the office. A flu shot clinic will be 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 21 in the Senior Center, located at the Jamestown Community College Building, Falconer Street, across from the ball park.
Clymer Historical Society To Meet
The Clymer Area Historical Society annual meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in the barn at Haverkamp Huis. Barbara Shannon will speak on the history of the Underground Railroad. For more information, call 355-2273.
Gerry Fire Auxiliary To Meet Sept. 18
The Gerry Volunteer Fire Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18 in the Gerry fire Hall for the annual tureen dinner. Members attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. The meeting follows dinner. Discussion will be on Nov. 22 craft show and also the Gerry Rodeo.
