Rosalee Waid, AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Department New York president, presented a check in the amount of $1,300 during a recent visit to Centaur Stride Inc., 8488 Jones Road, Sherman. Ms. Waid selected the facility as her special project during her year as president.
Centaur Stride is a therapeutic and recreational horseback riding facility for children and adults with or without disabilities. Lessons are subsidized by donations and sponsors. Riders are charged a nominal fee. Goals attained include functional gains, group dynamics, social and emotional growth and self-esteem.
