The Jamestown Community College men's soccer team (2-3) picked up its second win of the season by edging Westmoreland County CC (0-1), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in NJCAA Division III action.

''I think it's the best game we've played for far,'' JCC coach Pat Anderson said.

The Jayhawks outshot the Wolfpack 2-1, had more corner kicks and more quality shots.

Anderson was also pleased with the victory because his team has been bitten by the injury big.

''It was nice to see guys come off the bench and do a good job,'' he said.

P.J. Bialas of Westmoreland County opened the scoring 22 minutes into the game with a goal off a deflected pass.

At the 37-minute mark of the first half, Blake Montgomery tied the game for the Jayhawks.

The team remained deadlocked for most of the second half. With 15 minutes left, Blake Barker sent a crossing pass to Connors Meekins who scored from 18 yards out.

JCC goaltender Ben Morgan had six saves.

Next for the Jayhawks is a Region 3 Division III game at Alfred State College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
