WEST VALLEY - Pine Valley pulled out a hard-fought overtime victory on Thursday, thanks to a fine performance by Jessica Wilcox, as the Lady Panthers (2-1) edged West Valley, 3-2, in Division 4 girls soccer.
In the first half, Rachel Zimmer put West Valley in the lead at 24 minutes with an unassisted goal, but six minutes later, Wilcox nailed an unassisted goal for Pine Valley to tie things up at 1-1.
Zimmer responded at the 38-minute mark for West Valley, scoring on a penalty kick for the 2-1 lead.
Things remained the same until the 38-minute mark in the second half when Kara Herman tied the game at 2-2 as Wilcox assisted and the game went into overtime.
Wilcox finally delivered the game-winner, unassisted, six minutes into the extra period.
Nichole Rhinehart collected 12 saves to get the win for the Lady Panthers.
Ashley Blackman had 18 saves for West Valley.
