FREWSBURG - Derrick Smith and Brett Johnson were the goal scorers in Frewsburg's first win of the season on Thursday.
Smith and Johnson scored their first goals of 2012 as the Bears (1-1) topped Falconer, 2-0, in non-league boys soccer.
The first goal by Smith came midway in the first half with Jacob Annis assisting for a 1-0 lead.
In the middle of the second half, Johnson converted a pass from Smith to close out the scoring.
Justin Randall made three saves in getting the shutout while Trevor Dykstra made four, including a couple of outstanding stops, in the loss.
HOOSE STARS FOR SWCS
SINCLAIRVILLE - Southwestern's Tanner Hoose was on fire, scoring three first-half goals for the hat trick as the Trojans cruised to a dominating 7-1 win over Cassadaga Valley.
Ross Beresford earned assists on Hoose's first two goals and Tristen Desnerck assisted on the third goal. Beresfored then scored a goal of his own as Alex Bower helped out, Riley Rybicki added an unassisted goal and Andru Calimeri scored the Trojans' sixth goal with Dylan Lundmark assisting.
In the second half, Nathan Schrope completed Southwestern's scoring run with Lundmark earning another assist.
The Cougars got on the board when Kyle Ruge netted an unassisted goal.
Eric Priester had four saves for the Trojans to get the win. Tim Bender took the loss for Cassadaga Valley with 35 saves.
