Lady Cardinals Claim First Volleyball Victory

RANDOLPH - McKenna Maycock recorded 14 kills and four aces to pace Randolph (1-0, 1-2) to a Division 2-opening girls volleyball win over Silver Creek (0-1), 25-5, 25-14, 25-23, on Wednesday.

Peyton Terrette had 11 assists, Mandy Finch five kills and Alexis Terrette five assists in the win.

Courtney Cummings delivered six digs and Jordan Brooks blocked five shots for Silver Creek.

Randolph was victorious in the jayvee game.

CRANDALL LEADS WAY

CATTARAUGUS - Sara Crandall accounted for 15 kills, five digs and two aces as Cattaraugus-Little Valley (1-0, 1-2) downed Cassadaga Valley (0-1), 25-14, 25-11, 28-26.

Raychel Larkin had six kills, nine digs and two aces, Shelly Bach seven kills and seven blocks, and Kaitlyn Nye 26 assists and three digs for the winners.

For Cassadaga Valley, Shawana Miller recorded five kills, two blocks, Britta Howe two blocks and Kylee Braymiller two kills.

In junior varsity action, Cattaraugus-Little Valley prevailed.

NONLEAGUE

T'BIRDS PREVAIL

CHAUTAUQUA - Jenna Einink connected for five kills, three aces and four blocks as Chautauqua Lake (1-0) downed Fredonia (0-3), 25-17, 25-16, 25-5.

Sydney Milliman had four kills and an ace, Heather Sampson three kills and four aces and Tara Hunt nine aces, 15 digs and 10 assists for the winners.

Maddy Crandall delivered three aces, six assists and five digs, MacKenzie Tarnowski three kills and a block, and Margaret Wright eight digs in a losing cause.

Fredonia jayvees captured the junior varsity matchup.

SOUTHWESTERN SWEEPS

Kara Schutte had seven aces, seven assists and seven kills, and Maddy Alexander 16 assists and four kills and an ace when Southwestern opened by defeating Maple Grove (0-2), 25-20, 25-12, 25-12.

Sally Rudny added to the win with seven aces and six kills.

Taylor Satalino recorded eight kills and 18 digs, Nikara Liddell four kills, three blocks and nine digs, Jesse Babbage three kills and 12 digs, and Sierra Speranza two aces, eight assists and four digs for Maple Grove.

Southwestern also was victorious in the jayvee match, 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.
