Catherine A. Brown, 86, formerly of Meadville, Pa., passed away Sept. 2, 2012, at the Frewsburg Rest Home.
She was born in Riceville, Pa., on Jan. 25, 1926, the daughter of Allen and Bertha Gracey.
She married Ivan Brown, who died in 1986,

She was a housewife and a member of the First Christian Church in Meadville.
Catherine loved pets, gardening and canning. For many years, she and her husband had a booth at the Meadville Market House, where they sold antiques and collectibles.
She is survived by two sons: William (Brenda) Brown of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Phillip (Nancy) Brown of Palmdale, Calif.; five grandchildren: Paul Brown, Shawn Brown, Christian (Lauren) Brown, Chrystal (Edwin) Clover; and Michelle Kightlinger; and two great-grandchildren: Edwin Clover and Tyler Clover.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ida Barber and Annette Miller; and two brothers: Allen Gracey Jr. and William Gracey.
A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St., Meadville. Dr. Terry Clark, senior minister, officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society; or the First Christian Church in Meadville.
