LAKE SHORE LAGUE
Cassadaga Valley improved its record to 2-0 by defeating the Frewsburg Bears, 36-20, in Lake Shore Midget Football League varsity action on Saturday.
Jon Benedetto lead the Cougars with 101 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Benedetto also connected with Jacob Beebe on a 95-yard pass play for a touchdown. C.J. Kubera added 68 rushing yards and one touchdown.
For Frewsburg, Cordell O'Brien rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and Jared Sanfilippo added a touchdown after recovering a fumble.
Defensively for the Bears, Sanfilippo, Joe Martin and Autin Orr each had 10 tackles.
JAMESTOWN AREA LEAGUE
On Saturday at Strider Field, FredoniaSouthside, 19-7, in varsity action.
Jamison Horch cleared a path for Brenden Plaister, Lucas Green and Trey Swartz to each score a touchdown for Fredonia. Defensive Standouts for Fredonia were Nico Pucci and Nathan Shuart.
Grayson Holt led the way for Dante Garland to score a touchdown and Taige White ran in the extra point for Southside. Nico Delgado, Joshua Tonkin and Garland were the defensive standouts for Southside.
