She reported an increasing number of families using the services offered by the Mayville Food Pantry, especially those with children.

Nearly 200 households are provided with food each year; most of those families have jobs, but "just cannot stretch their food budget to last through the end of the month due to rising grocery, utility and gasoline costs," she said. Federal poverty guidelines are used to determine eligibility.

Located at 99 S. Erie St., the Mayville Food Pantry is affiliated with St. Paul's Episcopal Church. All parishes and service organizations located within the Chautauqua Lake Central School District have a representative on the food pantry's board. The food pantry is open from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Skellies thanked VFW Post, Ladies Auxiliary, Men's Auxiliary, and the club members for their generosity. Dick McMaster, club manager, made many behind the scenes arrangements and got donations from vendors.

The winning men's team was Tim Lehman, Gary Arnold, Doug Mason and John Coe. The winning mixed team was Doug Johnson, Amy Johnson, Scott Johnson and Tracy Johnson, who also won the only skin and donated the $100 winnings back to the tournament.

Longest putt for men was Ron Carlson and for women was by Val Nelson; the longest drive for men was by Craig Martin and Joyce Mathews for women. Closest to the pin for men was Larry Crossley and Mary Ann Lescynski for women.
