ALFRED - The Jamestown Community College woman's volleyball team finished third in the Alfred State Tournament on Saturday.
The tourney began with JCC taking care of Mercyhurst-North East, 25-14, 25-17, with Christina Rauh having 14 assists, six digs, five kills and an ace.
Brittany Brace had six kills, nine digs and a block and Anna Nietupski 10 digs, five kills and two blocks for the Jayhawks.
Then, JCC defeated Mohawk Valley CC, 25-11, 25-10, with Arrica Leis having four kills and three digs, Rauh eight assists, five kills and three digs and Brace five digs, five kills and an assist.
In a three-game marathon with Nassua CC, JCC prevailed, 23-25, 26-24, 18-16. The Jayhawks were behind, 15-4, before rallying to pull it out.
Rauh had 14 assists, 13 digs and six kills, Leis 12 kills and three digs and Kyser four kills, four digs and a block in the win.
The Jayhawks lost to Butler CC (Pa.), 20-25, 25-21, 5-15 to finish with a 3-1 record and are now 5-3 for the season.
Rauh recorded 14 digs, 13 assists, nine kills and an ace, Nietupski four kills and four digs and Brace nine kills, three digs and an assist.
