PANAMA - Steven Enlow might have set a Panama school record with his accomplishment Saturday afternoon in a Class DD football opener.

Enlow found the end zone five times and rushed for 186 yards in only eight attempts in the 40-6 victory over Franklinville.

''I have been here 17 years and nobody has scored that many touchdowns in a game,'' said Panama coach Chris Payne. ''You would have to look back and see if any of coach Jack Keeney's players scored that many.

''I wasn't sure what I had in the way of leaders because we lost several players off last year's team, but they really stepped it up today.''

Enlow scored three times in the opening half from distances of 5, 75 and 1 yard as the Panthers took a 27-6 advantage.

Robbie Benson, who rushed for 138 yards, contributed a 60-yard punt return in the half.

Enlow raced to paydirt from 51 yards and from 4 yards in the second half.

Defensive tackle Alec Blose was in on 12 tackles, forced a fumble and made a fumble recovery for Panama.

Franklinville's only score was a 9-yard run by Jamie Greiner in the second quarter.
