Robert E. “Bob” Quick

WESTFIELD - Robert E. "Bob" Quick, 77, of Johnson City, Tenn., formerly of Westfield, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in Tennessee following an extended illness.

Bob was born on July 9, 1935, in Hamburg, N.Y., a son of the late Lloyd and Elsie (Bigelow) Quick. He was raised in Springville, N.Y. and had lived in Frewsburg and Westfield for many years.

Bob had been the proprietor of the former RE Quick sales in Frewsburg and the former Carpet Warehouse in Westfield on Clinton Street. He had also been co-proprietor of The Furniture Place at 69 Main St. in Westfield. Bob was an entrepreneur who dab-bled in several different business including the salvage business and the auction business where he was a licensed professional auctioneer. Bob had been employed in the automotive industry as well, and had been a regional sales representative for the former American Motors Corp.

He is survived by his wife Betty McCauley; his daughter, Debra Pett, her husband, Peter, and Bob's two grandchildren, Tyler and Lindsey Pett, all of Fredonia, N.Y.; as well as Betty's children, Deborah (Wayne) Hippler and Larry (Lorrie) Shipe both of West Virginia. Bob is further survived by his three sisters: Marilyn Failey of Collins, N.Y., Doris (Peg) Rice of Springville, and Barbara Nelson of Maine; his brother Richard (Shirley) Quick of Springville; and his sister-in-law, Ruth Quick.

Bob was preceded in death by his three brothers: Lloyd, Leon and Carl; and by his sister Marion.

A memorial service may be announced at a later date. Local arrangements are by the MASON FUNERAL HOME, 37 Clinton St.
