SALAMANCA - Salamanca's new head coach Paul Furlong celebrated his first win and it was in come-from-behind style as the Warriors posted a fourth-quarter touchdown to edge Springville, 7-6, in non-league football on Friday.
Springville scored in the second quarter on a 1-yard run by Billy Dickenson and that held up until the final stanza when Salamanca quarterback Tanner John connected on a 49-yard pass to Jarron Ball that produced the Warrior s' touchdown.
Springville drove the ball to the Salamanca goaline, but the Warrior defense held with 3:30 to go.
Cameron Caputi led the Warriors (1-0) with 51 yards on 16 carries.

PORTVILLE - Portville dominated on both offense and defense, racking up 335 yards on the ground on the way to a 20-0 shutout over Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
The Panthers (1-0) got on the board in the second quarter when Zack Wood scored from 20 yards out. In the fourth, Nick Burrows caught a 6-yard pass from Brett Marcellin and Gunnar Van Curen completed the scoring with a 6-yard run.
Wood led the Panthers with 22 carries for 162 yards and a touchdown and Van Curen added 18 carries for 98 yards and a score.
Tyler Veno had seven tackles to lead Portville's defense.
