FREWSBURG - Robert N. Tompkins, 70, of 41 Frew Run Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at WCA Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1942, in Houtzdale, Pa., the son of Robert and Roberta Covey Tompkins.
Before retiring, he had been employed at the former Blackstone Corp., as well as numerous area shops as a tool and die maker.

Bob was a member of the Son's of the Legion at the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg, Carroll Rod Gun and the NRA.
He enjoyed karaoke, cooking and hunting.
Bob was survived by his wife, Diane Frankson Tompkins; five children: Mark (Anke) Tompkins, Christopher Tompkins, Deborah (Mark) Walsh, Colleen (Jon) Holsinger of Frewsburg, Erin (Christopher) Wheeler of Kiantone; two grandchildren: Jared and Samantha Walsh; and a brother Lawrence Tompkins Sr. of Frewsburg.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Allen Tompkins; and a granddaughter, Callie Joy Wheeler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Victory Church, Frewsburg by the Rev. Darrell Duffy, pastor of St. James, Our Lady of Victory oratory.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
