A Jamestown man is in the Jamestown City Jail without bail after a series of domestic incidents over the weekend.

Michael DeMarco, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree attempted robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of second-degree criminal obstruction of breathing and strangulation at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to a police report, a 27-year-old female victim came to the Jamestown Police Department to report a domestic incident that occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning. The woman alleged she and DeMarco had arguments throughout that night during which he held her against her will, spit on her, pushed her into walls and punched and choked her several times, causing her to become unconscious during the argument. At one point, DeMarco allegedly caused her physical injury while attempting to take property from her.

DeMarco was found by police officers and taken to the city jail, where he is being held without bail. He will be in court later.
