Eleanor Bird, 86, of Fal-coner passed away Friday, (Aug. 24, 2012), in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
A lifelong area resident. she was born June 2, 1926, in the town of Poland, and was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alta Derby Carlson.
Eleanor was a graduate of Falconer High School, and was employed by Jamestown Telephone Company. Prior to retire-ment she had been em-ployed by the Comfort Inn.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ross Grange, town of Poland Senior Citizens, and enjoyed knitting, sew-ing and cooking.
Surviving are three sons: Justin (Heidi) Bird, Robert Bird and Jay (Renee) Bird, all of Falconer; five grandchildren: Matthew Bird, Jessica (Mitch) Bel-linger, Jonathan (Alysha) Bird, Michael Bird and De-von Estus; and a great--granddaughter, Jenna Bel-linger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bird Jr., whom she married Nov. 27, 1948, and who died April 1, 1995; and three brothers: Harold, Howard and Gilbert Carl-son.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Fal-coner Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the fun-eral home.
