Shirley A. Davis Haluska, 72, of 639 Busti Road, Sugar Grove, Pa.. passed away at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, Pa.
She was born Dec. 10, 1939, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Matie) Bailey. On March 31, 1955, she was married to Robert W. Davis, whom she was married to for 18 years. Later, she married the late Charles Haluska.
Shirley was a nurses' aide at several area nursing homes and later worked for Truck-Lite Co., Falconer, N.Y.
Shirley was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Sugar Grove, and loved to listen to Pastor Billy with his beautiful Irish brogue. She enjoyed going with her best friend, Phyllis Maize, to the local garden club. She also enjoyed spending time and hearing from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as all of her beloved nieces and nephews.
Her favorite flowers were yellow roses and yellow calla lilies. She also loved spending time with her beloved dog, Marty, who passed from this life the same day as Shirley.
Surviving are her daughter, Penelope Pratt and husband, Robert, of Mifflinburg, Pa.; a son, Robert Davis and wife, Debra, of Bemus Point; one brother, Chester Bailey of Bear Lake, Pa.; and one sister Marge of Florida.; six grandchildren: William, Brandi, Tami, Samantha, Jessica and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren: Chloe, Wyett, Owen, Andrew and Geneva; and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes, 117 Main St., on Saturday, Aug. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Wrightsville Cemetery.
