Bluegrass Music Tonight In Celoron

CELORON - There will be free bluegrass music at the Celoron American Legion from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight. Bluegrass musicians are welcome to take a turn on stage. Backwoods Bluegrass will be the host.

Former Chief Benefit Set

FINDLEY LAKE - The Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department is holding a Chinese auction and dance from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Findley Lake Fire Department, Main Street, Findley Lake, to help pay medical bills for Kevin Hoitink, a former chief and EMT for more than 20 years. The Chinese auction will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. There will also be hot dogs and a 50-50 giveaway. Legion To Hold Fundraiser

LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 Auxiliary will host a Labor Day household sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, and Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Lakewood American Legion pavilion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Proceeds will benefit Buffalo Children's Hospital and the Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital. Donations are accepted. For more information, call Lisa Hanselman at 763-1286.

Thrift Store Continues Sale

The St. James Thrift Store, 141 Institute St., Jamestown, will have an end-of-summer sale through the end of August. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday. Proceeds are used to help those in need. Donations of good, clean clothing are accepted during working hours. For more information, call 488-7322.

Annual Garage Sale Set

FALCONER - The Falconer Kiwanis Club will have its annual garage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, and Friday, Aug. 31, at 2566 Palm Road, Jamestown. All proceeds benefit the club's local service projects. Kiwanis is a global organization aimed at serving the children, one child and one community at a time. New members are welcome. Honey Producers To Hold Meeting

EAST AURORA - The Western New York Honey Producers will hold a meeting Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County, 21 S. Grove St., East Aurora, N.Y. Dr. Tom Seeley, professor of neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University will be the featured speaker. The cost is $10.
