Two students have been named recipients of Dawson Metal's annual competitive scholarship program for children of its employees who plan on attending a two or four-year college or technical school.
The company provides the awards annually. Serving on the selection committee were Susan Bronstein, Jamestown Community College human resources director, and Ken Pavlock and David Holmstrom, retired Dawson employees.
The students and their parents are Chelsea Anderson, daughter of Brenda and Tad Henderson of Gerry and Ken Anderson of Jamestown; and Bridget Wagner, daughter of Rob and Connie Wagner of Jamestown.
Chelsea Anderson will be entering her sophomore year at the State University at Fredonia, where she is pursuing a degree in speech pathology. She plans on attending graduate school upon completion of her bachelor's degree.
Bridget Wagner will be a junior at SUNY Fredonia in the fall, having received an Associate in Communication Degree from JCC. She will be working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Public Relations.
Dawson Metal Company has been awarding scholarships since 1980 to children of employees who are qualified college applicants.
