Library Asks For Survey Responses
The James Prendergast Library has posted several surveys on its website asking for feedback from library users and member of the community. Visitors to www.prendergastlibrary.org will click on a logo for Counting Opinions to choose among three library surveys - short, regular and long - as well as a separate survey dealing with the Summer Reading Program. Results will be collected for three months.
Busti Fire Dept. Auxiliary To Meet
BUSTI - The Busti Fire Department Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Busti Fire Hall. Topics to be discussed will be the upcoming tractor pull, the Apple Festival and other events. All members are asked to attend the meeting. The auxiliary meets on the third Tuesday of each month. New members are welcome to join.
VVA Chapter 978 Barbecue Cancelled
A barbecue sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 978 on Saturday, Aug. 18, has been cancelled due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.
South Dayton To Host Concert
SOUTH DAYTON - Music in the Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the South Dayton Village Park Gazebo will be by the Cassadaga Concert Band. The summer music program is sponsored by the town of Dayton, Villenova, village of South Dayton and the state Council of the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Cattaraugus Arts Council. Anyone attending should bring lawn chairs for seating.
Annual UUCJ?Tea Party Is Sunday
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Jamestown will host its annual traditional tea party from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the congregation's headquarters, 1255 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown. The tea is open to the public at a cost of $15 a person. The event will include a menu of quiche, sandwiches, scones, English tea cakes, cookies and teas. Entertainment is by pianist Rosemary Mackown and vocals by Marika Koch. Reservations are requested by Wednesday by calling 488-1902 or emailing uucj@windstream.net.
Church To Host Dinner, Auction
CHERRY CREEK - The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church will hold a scoop dinner and wrapped gift auction on Saturday. Dinner begins at 4 p.m., followed by the auction at 6 p.m. The cost is a donation.
