Thomas S. Wachob II, age 88, of Birmingham, Ala., passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012. Before moving to the Birmingham area 11 years ago, he lived in Jamestown, N.Y. for 37 years. During his 40 years of residence in Rochester, N.Y., he worked as a machinist with Kaddis Manufacturing Company and was a longtime, active member of Gates Presbyterian Church. His current church membership is at Asbury United Methodist in Birmingham. Tom is survived by his wife, A. Elizabeth Wachob; daughter, Cheryl Wachob Spitzer (Terry); son, Roger Thomas Wachob (Barbara); grandchildren: Nicole Spitzer (Mabry), Jeremy Spitzer, Dustin Spitzer, Mikey Spitzer, Danielle Spitzer, Sadee Spitzer, Arick Spitzer and Joshua Spitzer; great-grandchildren: Elle Spitzer and Peyton Spitzer; brother, Elmer Wachob (Ania); and sister, Liz Wachob Stahlman (Harold). The visitation and service to celebrate Tom's life will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Ala. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the American Red Cross or to Gates Presbyterian Church, 1049 Wegman Road, Rochester, NY 14624.
