Steak Dinner Set For Wednesday
ASHVILLE - The Ashville United Methodist Church will hold its annual Swiss steak dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The cost is $7 for adults; children under age 12, $4. Take-outs will be available.
Youth Karate Begins Tuesday
The Jamestown YMCA will host youth karate classes taught by Christina Kebort, a seventh-degree blackbelt in Shotokan Karate. The session begins Tuesday and continues through Oct. 4. Classes will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for any child between the ages of 5 and 15. The cost is $40 for YMCA members and $60 for potential members. Pine Valley To Host Cruise-In
CHERRY CREEK - The Pine Valley Veterans Association 2522 will be holding its third annual cruise-in Saturday at 1 p.m. on Route 83 in Cherry Creek. The Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a chicken barbecue until sold out. All proceeds will go to cancer aid and research. Eat-in or take-outs will be available. Call 296-8900 for more information.
Defensive Driving Courses Set
Five-hour pre-licensing and the defensive driving course dates are set for this Saturday and Aug. 25, at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 35 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. Classes are held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and are instructed by Aadvance Driver Training staff. BPU To Host Blood Drive
The Jamestown BPU and American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the BPU Education Room at 92 Steele St. All donors will be entered into a drawing for two Buffalo Bills tickets. Lunch will also be provided. Walk-ins are welcome, but for an advance appointment, call Becky Robbins, BPU communications coordinator, at 661-1666. Donors must be at least 17 years old and in good health.
Artists To Present Show
The New York State Southern Tier Porcelain Artists will present a Four Seasons Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 4 W. Oak Hill Road, Jamestown. There will be door prizes, refreshments, gifts and a bake sale. Admission is free.
