Auditions are set for the fall musical, "Forbidden Broadway," the last show on the 2011-12 season ticket for Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown. Described by the theater as a "fun-loving musical packed with notable music," the show requires a cast consisting of soloists and a backup chorus of a yet-to-be-determined size.
Performers who have dreamed of being Mary Poppins, Carol Channing, Liza Minelli, Ethel Merman, the Phantom of the Opera, the Man of Lamancha, a cat from "Cats" or some of the many characters from "Les Miserables" should audition. The character cast includes more names than those listed.
In this long-running, off-Broadway hit musical, Broadway's musical legends meet Broadway's greatest satirist in a hilariously loving and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of theater's greatest stars and songwriters.
