Jo Carol Householder Madden, 57, formerly of Spanish Gates Apartments, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, after a brief illness.
She was born March 2, 1955, in Jamestown, the daughter of John H. House-holder and the late Carolyn Stephens Householder.
Jo Carol was a 1973 gra-duate of Jamestown High School, where she was a member of Theta Gamma Sorority, A'Cappella, Jamestown High School Orchestra, and the James-town High School Band. Jo played more than six in-struments, and was also a private vocal teacher. She attended Jamestown Com-munity College and had been employed at the form-er Music Box, The Resource Center, and Loy-alton of Lakewood, now Emeritus. Jo was best known for her vocal talents. She was a professional singer with the bands "Midnight Sun", "Collaboration", "Harold Olson's Big Band", "Vesuvius", and others. Jo Carol was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved animals and was known for her bright smile and great sense of humor.

Surviving besides her fa-ther are two daughters: Celeste Leland Madden and Courtney Reed Mad-den; a sister, Nancy House-holder Dawson; and a brother, John Stephens Householder.
She was preceded in death by her mother on Dec.19, 1999.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednes-day in Bellinger Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Thomas A. Sweet, pastor, will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the ser-vice in fellowship hall.
