RANDOLPH - Stephanie S. Sanford Myers, 44, of Elm Creek Road, Randolph, passed away at 7:55 a.m., Saturday (Aug. 4, 2012) at home with her family by her side. Steph had experienced an escalation of the cancer that weakened her body such that her spirit went home to be with the Lord.
She was born Feb. 9, 1968, in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of the late Riley T. and Judith Barnes Sanford.
Mrs. Myers was a graduate of the Elmira Free Academy and in 1990 received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. While working as a co-op at Cummins Inc., she met her husband Randy.

She had worked as an engineer and materials manager at Cummins Inc. in Ashville. Previously she had worked for MRC Bearings in Falconer following college.
She was a member and ordained elder of the Randolph United Presbyterian Church. She became ordained at the age of 16 in Elmira and was very active in her local church ministry. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women, H.P. Lodnar Book Club in Randolph and was and active leader in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts with her children.
Stephanie loved to travel and spend time with her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Randal L. Myers, whom she married on Oct. 19, 1991, in Elmira; two children: Alexandra E. Myers and Austin R. Myers at home; a brother Carl F. Sanford II and his son Xayn Kurta of Elmira, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her father, Riley Sanford on May 11, 1992, and her mother Judith Barnes Sanford on Feb. 18, 2009.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (Aug. 6, 2012) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Randolph United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Leslie Latham, pastor of the church, will officiate.
