Ruth A. Trainor

Ruth A. Trainor, 81, died at 3 p.m. Saturday (July 28, 2012) at Absolut Care Nursing Home in Salamanca, N.Y.

She was born Dec. 17, 1930 in Jamestown, the second daughter of Glenn and Harriet Folwell.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County having lived in Jamestown, Lakewood, and Celoron, N.Y. She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Ruth was employed at Lipman's Mens Clothing Store, Sears Credit Department, and served many friends and acquaintances as a waitress for 29 years at the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club where she retired in 1993. Ruth also spent some time as a volunteer worker at the WCA Hospital in Jamestown.

Ruth was preceded in death this year by her only sister, (Wilma) Jean Jursted of Jamestown.

Surviving are her son, Dan Trainor of San Bernardino, Calif.; four nephews: Greg Stewart and Paul Stevenson of Jamestown, David Stewart of Ellicottville, Md. and Lindy Jursted of Wyoming, N.Y.; two nieces: Leann Sweetheimer of Jamestown, and Laurie Gaard of Apple Valley, Minn.; and a cousin once-removed, Jeff Flanders of Jamestown.

As per Ruth's wishes, no funeral services will be conducted. Ruth will be buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown.

Memorials may be made to DAV, Disabled American Veterans.
