Persell Completes Challenge

July 31, 2012
The Post-Journal

Persell Middle School staff recently completed its Pound for Pound Challenge to benefit St. Susan's Center.

Fourteen teachers lost a combined total of 177.7 pounds over 20 weeks with the goal to donate the same amount lost in food to St. Susan's - though Persell staff ended up donating 220 pounds of food to St. Susan's. Robin Storer, Persell physical education teacher, set up the challenge.

"I had hoped that a challenge such as this one would help people lose weight and get fit, and it did. Everyone is motivated differently. By combing healthy living with giving back to the local community, the challenge gave everyone a great feeling. We are thrilled to make this donation to St. Susan's Center," Mrs. Storer said.
