POMFRET - Authorities say a man involved in a domestic dispute has surrendered to police after an eight-hour standoff at his Pomfret home.

State police say troopers responded Sunday evening to a report of a dispute between a man and a woman at a location on Route 20 in Pomfret. Troopers say shortly after they arrived, the man ran into a wooded area. The man, 32-year-old Jason White, was later found barricaded inside his home.

White surrendered Monday morning after the New York State Police SWAT team arrived.

Troopers say charges are pending.
