Local Author Gives Presentation On New Book

Author Chuck Spinner unveiled his book, "The Tragedy at the Loomis Street Crossing," at the Robert H. Jackson Center recently.

Spinner's book tells the story of the train wreck that occurred in Naperville, Ill. on April 25, 1946. The crash took the lives of 45 people and was the worst wreck in the history of the Burlington Railroad.

The author gave a presentation that showed the causes and results of the crash. Afterward, attendees were treated to refreshments and had the opportunity to meet and greet Spinner and have him inscribe their copies of the book.

The "Tragedy at the Loomis Street Crossing" gives the stories of all 45 victims and contains interviews and quotes from injured passengers, eye witnesses and rescue workers.
