CHAUTAUQUA - During Week Six at Chautauqua Institution, The Temptations and The Four Tops perform in the Amphitheater, Community Appreciation Night features bluegrass band Greasy Beans and Family Entertainment Series presents "A Family Concert with the Ibis Ensemble."
Week Six will begin with free access to the grounds today. Visitors are welcome to see the East Winds Symphonic Band in the Amphitheater at 2:30 p.m. Access to the grounds is always free on Sundays and parking fees apply only after 1:30 p.m.
Monday night is a Community Appreciation Night, featuring Greasy Beans at 8:15 p.m. in the Amphitheater. An eclectic bluegrass string band, Greasy Beans combines engaging talent with genuine musical enthusiasm and delight. The band is a favorite at bluegrass festivals across the U.S. and Europe, as its original tunes modernize the traditional bluegrass sound.

The Four Tops will perform in Chautauqua Institution’s Amphitheater Friday night with The Temptations. Tickets start at $40.
Family Entertainment Series presents "A Family Concert with the Ibis Ensemble" on Tuesday. An age-old tale with a Caribbean twist, "Little Red Riding Hood" will be performed along with several local folk tunes and calypsos. The Ibis Ensemble, which is in residence at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, will begin their performance at 6:30 p.m. in Smith Wilkes Hall.
Also on Tuesday, the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra (CSO) performs in the Amphitheater under the direction of guest conductor Andrew Litton at 8:15 p.m. Litton is the first American Music Director of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra of Norway.
The North Carolina Dance Theatre in Residence, directed by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, will present "Dance Innovations," an evening of innovative and exciting dance on Wednesday. World-premiere choreography will highlight an evening of dramatic and fanciful contemporary dance beginning at 8:15 p.m. in the Amphitheater.
Guest conductor Andrew Litton returns to the Amphitheater for another performance with the CSO, featuring violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. Meyers is one of the world's premiere concert violinists, performing regularly as a featured soloist with orchestras around the world, including the Boston Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Vienna Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
The Temptations and The Four Tops will perform on the Amphitheater stage Friday at 8:15 p.m. For more than five decades, these two iconic groups have inspired, influenced and entertained millions with hits such as The Temptations' "My Girl," "Get Ready," and "Papa was a Rolling Stone" and The Four Tops' "Baby I Need Your Loving," "I Can't Help Myself," and "Are You Man Enough." Tickets are still available.
Week Six will come to a close with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra Opera Pops Concert at 8:15 p.m. in the Amphitheater on Saturday. This performance, featuring the Chautauqua Opera Young Artists will be led by guest conductor, Stuart Chafetz.
Tickets for Amphitheater performances are $40. On Community Appreciation Nights, ticket prices are reduced to $18 and Family Entertainment Series performances in Smith Wilkes Hall are free.
