Doris Chopan, 89, form-erly of 56 Cleveland Ave., Salamanca, N.Y., died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Heritage Village in Ger-ry, N.Y., following a long illness.
Born on Jan. 30, 1923, in Poland Center, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Sted-man Sutton. She was mar-ried on Jan. 27, 1940, to Stephen P. Chopan, who predeceased her on March 30, 1985.
Mrs. Chopan had been employed at Signore's in Ellicottville, N.Y., retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Un-ited Congregational Methodist Church, Chris-tian Women's Fellowship and worked on the rumm-age sales. In her communi-ty, she delivered Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed her house, deck, growing flowers, tomatoes, cooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters: Roberta (Robert) Saxton, James-town, N.Y., and Leana (Joseph) Walsh, Asheville, N.C.; two sons: Stephen Chopan, Rochester, N.Y., and Dennis Chopan, Ma-cedon, N.Y; 12 grandchil-dren; 14 great-grandchil-dren; a great-great grandchild; a brother, Wil-liam (Beverly) Sutton, Sala-manca, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chopan was prede-ceased by a daughter, Mar-jorie ''Midge'' Schubert; two sisters: Barbara Olson and Myra Crooks; and two brothers: Walter Sutton, and Albert Sutton.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y., on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in United Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Joshua Schallert officiating.
Burial will be in Craw-ford Cemetery, Salamanca, N.Y.
