Three Rescued After Sailboat Capsizes

ASHVILLE - High winds and rough waters led to a sailboat becoming capsized Tuesday in the Bootey Bay area of Chautauqua Lake.

At about 5 p.m. the Chautauqua County Navigation Patrol, along with the Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team, Ashville Fire Department and Bemus Point Fire Department, were summoned to the location.

According to a police report, when the boat capsized, three occupants wound up in the water. Two of the three subjects were taken to WCA Hospital for evaluation.

The vessel was towed to Long Point State Park Marina following the rescue.
