Wayne Dunlap

CASSADAGA - Wayne Dunlap, 80, of Cassadaga, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1932, in Rochester, the son of the late Earl and Emma Southworth.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict.

He had been employed at several factories including; 17 years at Ralston Purina as a machine operator, a driver for CARTS and most recently Valone Ford, Fredonia until 2009. Throughout his working years he also repaired TVs.

Volunteer fire service was an important part of his life. He was a life member of Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department, joining in 1971. Previously, he was a member and past fire chief of Lily Dale Volunteer Fire Department.

Wayne enjoyed painting, building and flying remote control planes and rockets, and was an accomplished rose gardener, but nothing was more important than his family.

Father of Joey (Marie) Dunlap of Tennessee, Kathleen (Robert) Rhinehart of Ellington, Linda (Russell) Rexford of Brocton, David Dunlap and Scott (Stephanie) Dunlap, all of Cassadaga; grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of 13; longtime companion of Maryann Bielaszka of Dunkirk; and was preceded in death by the mothers of his children: Joan Maybee and Jessie P. Rogers.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Visitation two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department.
