BUSTI - The attention will be focused on the Limited Late Model division tonight at Stateline Speedway for the Affinity One Federal Credit Union Limited Late Model Special.
Second generation driver Steve Kania is the point leader, but Dustin Eckman leads in the win column with four wins, Kania has three. Eckman is fourth in the standings and was last week's feature winner. Chris Ottaway is second in the point standings with one feature win and veteran Steve Moynihan is third.
Dick Barton added another feature win at Stateline to his racing resume, his 75th. It was Barton's first win of the season as he closed the point gap with point leader Rich Gardner. Barton has nine Stateline Super Late championships. Greg Oakes has one win and is third, with Darrell Bossard fourth and 2009 champ Chad Valone fifth.
Damien Bidwell matched Max Blair in the Crate Late Model win column getting his third last Saturday and continues to lead the point race.Bob Dorman is second with Jason Genco third.
Justin Carlson closed within 10 points of E-Mod point leader Butch Southwell with his first win of the season last Saturday. Carlson became the only driver in the top five with a win. Chuck Frye is third, Dave Shagla Jr. fourth and Alex Froman fifth.
Super Sportsman point leader Dan Nocero Jr. notched his seventh win out of10 attempts.
Brian Crandall visited Street Stock victory lane for the first time this year and sits second in the points behind Chris Withers. Withers dominates in the win column with eight feature wins.
Chad Bender extended his win count to five last Saturday and leads the Super Challenger division.
Preparations continue for the "Empire 50" Lucas Dirt Late Model event on Tuesday. Advanced ticket sales have been set up for those that want to assure their seats as a standing-room-only crowd is expected. Along with the Lucas Late Models, the UEMS E-Mods will be the only support division. The Tuesday event will pay $10,000 to the winner.
Jimmy Owens of Newport Tenn., is the current Lucas Oil point leader and won the CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland Mo., last Saturday.
Gates open today at 5:30 p.m., pits at 4 p.m. and racing will start at 7 p.m.
