Amy Jo Ransom of Clarendon, Pa., and Douglas and Donna Ransom of Summerfield, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara Marie, to Bryan C. Strauss, the son of Keith and Becky Strauss of Walkertown, N.C. Miss Ransom is also the granddaughter of Bruce Spencer of Clarendon, Pa., and the late Barbara Spencer, Gary and Barbara S. Ransom of Snowhill, N.C., formerly of Chandlers Valley, Pa., and Philip and Sharon Melson of Bucksport, Maine. Her fiance is also the grandson of Loretta Crane of Canton, N.Y., and the late Donald Crane.
Miss Ransom graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with a degree in accounting and business administration. She is the bakery manager of the Lowes Food Store in Kernersville, N.C. Her fiance graduated from Forsyth Technical College with a degree in electrical engineering. He is employed at Rock Tenn in Winston Salem, N.C., as a facilities engineer.
An Oct. 12, 2013, wedding at Bona Manzee Corporate Retreat & Wedding Venue in Madison, N.C. is planned.
